Arts‐based responses to teaching poetry: a literature review of dance and visual arts in poetry education

This study investigates the use of dance and visual arts in poetry education by systematically reviewing peer-reviewed articles published on topic from 2000 to 2019. The review focuses empirical results studies concerned with using implications for pedagogy research practice. encompasses 21 that were analysed thematically. thematic analysis yielded seven themes: expand deepen understandings poetry; break curricular boundaries; interaction collaboration; personal knowledge, reflection experience; increase interest, motivation confidence; challenges, limitations constraints; disciplinary knowledge. With this having increased 2010s, findings show potentials challenges different ways education. Still, field is understudied, many questions remain unanswered. Consequently, concludes suggestions future arts-based responses adds dialogue contributes raising awareness possibilities classroom.
